Introduction

Intent Media is the leading independent publisher of business publications within entertainment and leisure markets, with a roster of 8 magazines.

Objectives

Evolving Media was commissioned to build Intent Media's online presence for each publication, ensuring that advertising revenues were high (based on large volumes of relevant traffic). Objectives:

    Evolving Media has launched 10 websites for Intent Media, covering a range of sectors from computer games to retail and the toy industry to cycling.

    The sites have been designed and built on a bespoke administration system for Intent Media, that allows them to control all 10 sites from one web-based system. Features include Web 2.0 comments system, social bookmarking, automated jobs boards, RSS news feeds and advert management system.

    Consultants from Evolving deliver a comprehensive Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategy, working to optimise and monitor the sites on behalf of Intent.

    Over 10,000 automated emails are sent to subscribers every day by the system, which summarises and imports news articles from the sites. The emails are generated, sent and tracked by Evolving, allowing for fine-tuning of the campaigns over time.

    Results

    Our organic SEO strategy for MCV (www.mcvuk.com) saw search-engine traffic increase 176% in the first 6 months. Supporting traffic driving initiatives (such as user generated content and strategic email communication) have driven page views per day up to 1,240% higher than the equivalent date last year.

    These impressive figures have attracted advertising from major industry players, including Microsoft, Activision, Sega, Disney, Mattel, Roland and Nickelodeon. High profile games such as Project Gotham Racing, Crash Bandicoot and Quake also feature on the advertisement roster.
