GBBF 2008
The Wells and Young's area achieved an excellent stand-out in a competitive environment at the Great British Beer Festival 2008, held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London.
The easily recognisable Bombardier bus was also present behind the bar and proved a big hit, attracting many customers to the Wells and Young's area to sample the excellent range of speciality beers on offer.
Other breweries making an appearance included Greene King; Marstons, Fullers and Brains, smaller local breweries, each utilising their areas, but Greene King in particular proving that your bar does not necessarily need to be large to attract attention.
From our point of view, GBBF 2008 can be considered a success for Wells and Young's. It has been widely predicted that hard times lay ahead for the UK's breweries in the credit crunch, but if Wells and Young's can continue to stand out from the crowd at industry exhibitions as they currently do in the On and Off trade, then this family brewer can continue through the doom and gloom and come out stronger on the other side.
